It offers 2.5 TB of native capacity, expandable to 6.25 TB with 2.5:1 hardware compression, and delivers data transfer rates of up to 160 MB/s native (400 MB/s compressed) . With 2,176 data tracks written using Metal-Particle (MP) technology, this cartridge ensures reliable, high-density storage across 846 m of tape and includes an embedded 16 KB LTO Cartridge Memory (LTO‑CM) for fast load times and media monitoring .It supports Linear Tape File System (LTFS) for simplified file-level access and is compatible with AES‑256 encryption-capable drives for secure data protection. Housed in a rugged2,176-track design with HP’s “smart grabber” mechanism, it prevents leader-pin detachment and reduces wear, while maintaining mechanical durability with 20,000 load/unload cycles and an estimated 30-year archival life.
